ABSTRACT

The overarching idea is to repurpose the existing materials at sites like concrete, steel, bricks, and wood and even to introduce various new materials like Corten steel, copper, and stone at the site. Most of these when materials when oxidizing form green and brown crust on the surface whereas materials like concrete and timber undergo hydration to form defects, cracks, and grows algae on the surface. Over time, the materials reveal the beauty of the patina effect, as such the design enhances the biophilia relationship between humans and nature and embraces an everchanging weathering outlook that recreates different experiences over a period. Therefore, in this sense, time is the becomes the master, the served, while everything else like the materials, people, the landscape becomes the servant.
